Hear from travellers who have experienced this Vietnam 14-day tour
We knew Nha Trang and the Mekong would be highlights, but Buon Ma Thuot was the surprise of the whole trip.
It felt completely different from the Vietnam we had seen in the usual tourist destinations. The coffee culture, the drive through the Central Highlands, Lak Lake, the ethnic villages and especially the Gong Show made this part of the journey feel incredibly authentic.
Buon Ma Thuot felt like discovering a side of Vietnam that still belongs to the locals. Definitely one of the most memorable parts of our 14 days.

Tailor-Made 14 Days Journey · 2025
We didn’t really know what to expect before getting to Buon Ma Thuot. The drive around the Highlands was beautiful, and Lak Lake was probably one of my favourite stops. We also visited Buon Don and an ethnic village, then had the Gong Show in the evening. Really enjoyed that.
I think that’s what made Buon Ma Thuot stand out. It felt much more local and much less touristy. We saw a side of Vietnam we hadn’t come across before.
The Nha Trang part was great, and we really enjoyed the Mekong too, but if someone asked me what was the most unexpected part of the trip, I’d say Buon Ma Thuot without hesitation.
